- Goal 3
- Customers supply information once and aggregate all related data requirements into a single return.
Achieving this goal means adopting a practice of reciprocity so that:
- data owners take responsibility for ensuring data quality to defined standards of accuracy and timeliness
- data transfer processes validate the data at both ends, then audit the result
- holders of information make available what they have, in a form others can use
- information consumers see one version of the truth—the source if possible, or a certified copy
- everyone captures, holds, moves and exchanges data in electronic form
- Objective 3.1
- Adopt a point-of-sale model—data capture at the point-of-sale activates all downstream processes.
- Objective 3.2
- Act always for the public good, collecting only what’s relevant and using only for stated purposes.
- Objective 3.3
- Record data at the transaction level to maximise the options for analysis and added-value.
- Objective 3.4
- Central agencies work together to reduce the number of individual data returns.
