Key indicatorsThe number of students enrolled in te ao Māori courses grew rapidly from 2001 to 2003 and has since decreased. From 2003 to 2005, the main decrease has been in level 1 courses, while level 2 to 5 courses grew from 2004 to 2005. ![]() Formal domestic students in Student Component-funded te ao Māori courses by course level 2001–2005 The number of students enrolled for more than 0.3 EFTS in te reo Māori courses grew from 2002 to 2004 and then decreased in 2005. The main decrease has been at level 1. ![]() Formal domestic students in Student Component-funded higher-level te reo Māori courses undertaking more than 0.3 EFTS by course level 2001–2005 The number of students studying for immersion and bilingual teaching qualifications has flucuated in the range from 1,900 to 2,300 per year.
