Alignment was a key issue for many groups. Issues relating to alignment include the need to:

  • demonstrate the connection between the early childhood education, schools and tertiary (e)learning frameworks.
  • ensure alignment across all aspects of the Ministry, including alignment with the Schooling Strategy, the curriculum review and the Māori Education Strategy.
  • explore and apply Kaupapa Māori frameworks within and across the (e)learning frameworks.
  • demonstrate where the schools (e)learning framework fits with the national Digital Strategy.
  • complete and implement current curriculum and policy initiatives and developments in schools before introducing the (e)learning framework.

Please comment on any aspects of this ‘Alignment’ section.

An important factor for me is looking at how does the (e)learning strategy sit in relation to the Key competencies for education in the 21st Century.
Namely:
Relating to Others
Managing self
Belonging - participating & contributing
Using knowledge & information
Using Language, symbols & texts (Making meaning)
