• raise the profile of the University through higher citation rates
• make DEST reporting easier
• enhance the impact of the University’s research

ePrints repository contains 1,400+ papers and theses:

• DSpace and ePrints are the only real candidates
• Fedora is not widely used so is high risk
• ePrints is trivial to install and straightforward to customise

Key problem is participation: make submitting electronic copies of outputs a routine part of the research process

Giving authors usage information encourages participation
