QRules of Engagement (How ESAF Works)

ESAF is a vehicle for sector collaboration to prevent duplication of effort.

ESAF needs to communicate to sector project managers what its role is in helping them comply with sector interoperability standards. It wants to work with them as they carry out initial project investigations and prepare their business cases, to ensure that the project’s lead agency and all collaborating agencies are aligned and supporting the architecture. It contributes to assuring consistent build quality through an architecture review process.
ESAF doesn’t want to become a bureaucratic structure that gets in the way. It’s not an inspector at the end of the production line with a check list. People need to understand what the process is they are expected to follow. They need to see the benefits that we get from working collaboratively. ESAF will identify selected projects and work with these as “demonstrators” for how the governance process will work.
