The New Zealand Education Sector Architectural Framework (ESAF) aims to deliver interoperability across the Education Sector through the ability to:

Share a common understanding of data and information;

Transfer information based on business rules;

Individuals being able to identify themselves in an online environment;

This will also involve authorising access to services and information and;

Locating services and information within the sector.

The individual projects that comprise the ESAF work programme include:

The Education Sector Data Model;

The Education Sector Metadata Schema;

Education Sector Intergration Services

Education Sector Federated Search and;

The Education Sector Authorisation and Authentication project.

This part of the TiWiki site is organised into several overlapping page collections. These serve to describe the ESAF: link must be first item after bullet point for wiki trail / publish

To learn more about ESAF, start with the Site Tips, FAQ and Key Messages pages. As a Wiki Wiki Web, the site will always be a work-in-progress — a place where the framework community can share and exchange knowledge.
