- The strategic objective of the Future Proofing Kiwi Careers project is to enhance and expand the Kiwi Careers website to provide New Zealanders with more dynamic robust up-to-date access to careers information and guidance.

- The specific project objectives of the Future Proofing Kiwi Careers project are:
- To enhance the Kiwi Careers website to provide, as a minimum, the functionality and content by 30 June 2005;
- To make a web based career planning and guidance tool available by 30 June 2004;
- To build and implement a robust Data Management System that effectively and efficiently provides data collection, standards conformity, workflow management, and information output for the production of careers related products and services, by 30 June 2005;
- To develop a new design for the Kiwi Careers website, by 1 Feb 2004;
- To implement the software and hardware systems that enable the ongoing online delivery, to agreed standards, of the Kiwi Careers website (including the Data Management System), by 30 June 2004;
- To ensure that all Kiwi Careers contracted Direct Government Purchase obligations are met during 1 July 2003 – 30 June 2005;
- To ensure that the overall Future Proofing Kiwi Careers project, and all associated sub-projects, are based on sound project management methodology, and that all project activities comply with current Career Services policies and procedures.
